some updates. some quotes.

1. our admin staff bought a wrong table. boss said, 'how come u always have to do things wrong as if it's your hobby? i can't rely on you anymore. i can't afford to spend so much time on sorting things out for you. ڦݯr!'

2. another staff who also took part in ordering that table was blamed as well. 'ڥHIڳArHAݧC...' 'ڭYC!' the staff said.

3. boss said, 'uYQʤf! delay no more la Od..'

4. 'interior design OdYXga jeh. dKCNar ma.' (referring to his ugly 'classical' restaurant that we hate)

5. i showed him a picture of a daniel libeskind museum, showing him the kind of ceiling and lighting effect that we wanted. he said, 'this one is great. you want to do sth like zaha hadid's right.'

oh my goodness. what else do you know apart from zaha hadid and marcel wanders? sorry i like alvaro siza more.

6. we spent the whole afternoon and night on cadding coz he thought we spent too much time doing sketches and thinking about the design. at 10pm when he saw our sullen and ng gur faces, he suggested, 'maybe you guys go back earlier and do sketches instead. although it's not our usual practice (they usually do cad drawings and 3D renderings even at a very early stage), i think helen's sketches are good enough to be used for presentation to client. maybe you can do sketches so that it's quicker...'

when we did sketches in earlier in the afternoon he thought we were slow and forced us to start cadding rightaway. now he told us we should actually do sketches. sara was too angry to say anything. i was too angry not to spit it out. 'i told you we should do sketches a long time ago. cad drawing is such a waste of time. if you said it earlier we wouldn't be that slow.' i got up, left my seat and went to get some water.

today sara and i worked very hard on the restaurant design (we have to come up with the plans sections elevations perspectives of two schemes before tomorrow). it's a high-class italian/fusion restaurant near sorrento in jordan owned by a world famous italian diamond brand. mr boss has the idea of 'modern passion and urban sophistication' and he came up a modern scheme and a classical scheme. it looked soooo scary to me when he showed me images and explaining his desired effects. it's really pretentious superficial crappy meaningless cliche bullshit. being a hku archi student who has done her third year yet doesn't know who marcel wanders is, i feel so ashamed of my boss who's more of a business man than what he claims a passionate design guru or architect.

it's so heartbreaking to see my boss doing this crap and ourselves having to assist him in piling up this shit. our company actually got lots of nice projects - cinemas, restaurants, shipyard, hotels, pubs, theme park, holiday resort... i assumed that i should be able to learn quite a lot. if not at least i could have the precious chance of handling such interesting projects while the rest of the world might be dealing with highrise residential buildings most of the time. although i have never really been into architecture i still can't help feeling heartbroken being an archian.

this man does the world no good. would he ever realize that he's simply wrong? never treat people around you that way please. this poor pathetic lonely eccentric man. this man who has to keep his poor staff in the office so that he feels accompanied.

i have to quit no matter what. i just can't this silly man. sara let's quit together.

looking forward to tomorrow's music talk with wiki!
