this noon i went to the hong kong records in harbour city. the english albums were categorized into international pop, rock, classic rock, urban, alternative/indie etc. this was stupid. i was looking for the stone roses. i thought they would be put in international pop like HMV and other cd stores did, but i could find it. then i looked for rock, but it wasn't there either. and then i finally saw it on the 'UK sound' stack. HOW STUPID. i mean, it's always difficult to categorize music clearly. what stack would you put coldplay on? pop? rock? alternative? or the stupid UK SOUND? it's always a mix right. why didn't they simply put everything in one place and arrange them according to alphbetical order? while paying for the stone roses cd, i told the cashier (a middle aged woman) that the cd arrangement was no good, implying that they should consider rearranging the things. and she said, 'next time if you can't find what you want you may ask our staff for assistance.'  |
