Leadenhall Market was closed when I got there. It's not easy to find. The Victorian market was nice but not quite as grand as seen from pictures. There were about 20 shops/restaurants (a lot of them were chains) or so, and from 10-4 there should be small stalls also but as said I had missed the opening time. It was nice but I would say the Old Spitalfields Market was a more interesting place to hang out. The St Dunstan-in-the-east church garden nearby couldn't be more beautiful. A real hidden gem (not sure if it's well-known among Londoners?)! The church designed by Christopher Wren was all destroyed except its tower and some of the walls. The site was converted into a garden in the 70s and the intact part of the church now houses some sort of clinic or health centre.

Further east and near to Tower Hill Station was the Tower Hill Memorial with names of people died in shipwrecks, including somebody in Hong Kong.

Yesterday we went to Hauser & Wirth for the first time. There were only 4 pieces of wax sculptures in the huge gallery, and the oversized chicken piece with an enlarged wound was quietly disquieting.

The 'north gallery', the other Hauser & Wirth property next door, was showing some pop-art-ish paintings inspired by comic/pop culture icons by Berlin-based artist Andy Hope. The paintings were not my cup of tea and my biggest wonder was how much sin the gallerists were accummulating in these huge gallery spaces. Oh these filthy rich people. I don't know what to think. Perhaps I need to read more theories to back myself up.

Gonna play these in the coming concerts. First rehearsal on 14th night.

Prokoviev and Mendelssohn scores look rather difficult but I'm looking forward to the organ concerto.
