just found this great project on youtube:

Life in a day by Kevin Macdonald
Document one day on Earth.

Oscar-winning director Kevin Macdonald discusses his latest project, Life In A Day: a historic global experiment to create a user-generated documentary film shot in a single day.
On July 24, you have 24 hours to capture a glimpse of your life on camera. The most compelling and distinctive footage will be edited into an experimental documentary film, executive produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Kevin.

met my friends at osage soho last night and we were going to the listening room show. the first performer was young portuguese artist Joao Vasco Paiva, the same artist who exhibited an interactive sound sculpture called chirps at videotage a few months ago - i wanted to see that sculpture very much but had to miss it for some reasons =/ .

the 2nd last performance (was it a performance? or was he only testing the machines?) by polish artist Zbigniew Karkowski was pure, deafening, almost unbearable noise that lasted for over 10 minutes i think, and you should understand why i said i doubted whether it was intended as a performance. but this artist seems to be a 神級 figure - he studied under Iannis Xenakis, the guy who collaborated with le corbusier on the philips pavilion and whose music inspired le corbusier's convent in la tourette!

after the show i told sai ho that his electronic music was really pop compared to what we heard tonight. the 10-minute of everlasting, threatening noise - it's hard of an average person like me to like it or even call it music, but the man in front of me seemed to enjoy it much while all of us had to cover our ears. the sound was really too loud - so loud that even if you cover your ears, your internal organs trembled with the sound, and i suppose this was part of mr karlowski's intention.

haven't touched the drawing for a few days. lagging behind already... i have already asked to postpone the deadline for the 2nd draft to next thursday so i should still be able to catch up over the weekend geh.

tomorrow we will discuss the arrangement of the exhibition of this drawing. i don't have the details yet, but the initial idea is to have the opening at peak galleria where hang lung has a large exhibition space, and as hang lung also owns some other malls, the drawing might be able to travel to different venues afterwards. i will finish the drawing by late august or early september, and then it will be framed and scanned. so i guess the opening will take place in october, the time when i have already left hong kong (i'm still struggling with freelance.... so unprepared for leaving). i don't know what the exhibition may lead to. maybe i'll be like a 一碟歌手, after this one exhibition jau fold up and be forgotten by the rest of the world, but this is really something ar if it really comes true.

會唔會有一夜成名變暴發既一日先。time to pretend.

I'm feeling rough I'm feeling raw
I'm in the prime of my life
Let's make some music, make some money
Find some models for wives
I'll move to Paris shoot some heroin
And fuck with the stars
You man the island and the cocaine and the elegant cars

This is our decision
To live fast and die young
We've got the vision
Now lets have some fun

btw i like Andrew VanWyngarden's curls. hot.
