The long-awaited second visit to Romney Marsh and Dungeness. I have never wanted anything else other such simple peace and solitude. Who would love to be the monitor of these sound mirrors? Despite of the menace and tension associated with wars and military structures, this could be the most poetic profession in the world - to sit in this piece of solitary landscape, focus, wait, listen and detect for sounds of coming airplanes from the other side of the English Channel, all collected by these magnificent, intriguing, sculptural concrete structures. What else could you ask for?
