Watched The Adventure last week and The Night today, both by Antonioni. Will watch the L'elisse, the last of the Antonioni retrospective at Barbican next weekend. In both films women are depicted as sophisticated, unpredictable and always disappointed by men's love, while men are selfish, lustful and almost foolish. I find it interesting that the director seems to stand on women's side. Classmate said the next film I am going to watch next week would be more mature. Let's see.

The Curve of Barbican is having a new exhibition of Cory Arcangel, a new media artist from the US. The artist modified the programmes of different bowling video games from the 70s to 2010 so that the player could never score. The ball would always fall into the gutter no matter what, turning the game into a futile, pointless activity. You can also see how the game has evolved. in the 70s the graphics were highly abstract - everything in large pixels and looks very flat. later on there's more realistic sound effects, and much effort has been put into making the video game character's movement and environment realistic. In one recent game there were even spectators and they would cheer for the player.

When I left Barbican and walked towards Bank station I saw a plague on a building's wall saying there's a Roman amphitheatre nearby, so I turned into that direction and was totally amazed - it's a wonderful square in the city enclosed by the Guildhall, Guildhall Library and Guildhall Art Gallery (which sat on an ancient Roman amphitheatre). When classmate comes here again in summer, we will eat sushi takeaway by those lakes in Barbican and then stroll in the Guildhall square and explore the pretty streets nearby.

This is the last night here. She's been terribly rude. A real shame for muslims.

They mentioned nothing about the deposit. I will ask her son about it tomorrow. Hopefully I can get the money back.

I will miss the lovely garden of the church and the 1Q84 playground. Hopefully life will be better from tomorrow onwards.
